Sri – means spider, Kala – means a serpent, Hasti – means an elephant, Srikalahasteeswara – Is the God (or Shiva, here), and who resides in the temple that has formed due to the devotion of the mentioned three animals.

Life is like a lake being shone by the lighting of rich poetry. World is like a heavy cloud filled with births and deaths. the heart, like a lotus, loses its glory, when hit by the storms of wrong doing. My heart is in such a state, my Lord!

O Lord! Please radiate your benevolence like the cool winter. Like the lotuses rejuvenate in the cool winter air, let my heart rejuvenate with your benevolence.
